More Crazy Laws #28 — it’s so good to be back with another edition of crazy laws! And it’s good to be back home as well, although I did enjoy Nashville. It was amazing to see so many people gather in small groups praying together! The atmosphere was amazing. Oh, and everything is healing nicely. I still don’t need eye shadow on my right eyelid…or under my eye…or down my face… But at least my face doesn’t hurt unless I touch it, which is why I canceled a dental appointment…
The buttercups (daffodils or jonquils, if you prefer) were such a surprise this morning when I went outside. I have no idea where they came from as I haven’t planted any…ever. Or at least I don’t remember planting any, and I don’t think I would’ve planted them where I found them. Nice little mystery! And as for the verse, I just love it. Someone sent it to me this morning in a text, and I wanted to share it.
Now onto the last More Crazy Laws #27. Three of the following laws are true and I made up one. Can you guess which one?
- In this state, you can’t sing karaoke unless wearing shoes.
- Here kangaroos are not allowed in barber shops at any time. (Alaska)
- And in this state, women may not wear high heels while in the city limits. (California)
- The U.S. government says it’s a crime to give false weather reports. (DC)
And the answer is…#1. Congrats to all who guess correctly!
Now onto More Crazy Laws #28. Three of the following laws are true and I made up one. Can you guess which one?
- If you’re 88 years of age or older, it’s illegal for you to ride your motorcycle.
- People who make “ugly faces” at children may be fined and/or jailed.
- Wheelbarrows with For-Sale signs may not be chained to trees.
- It is illegal to keep an elk in a sandbox in your backyard.
Okay, Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a $10 gift card!

I’m going with #2.

We’ll see, Diana!
#4 – has to be the elk.
Author
That does seem reasonable, Mary, but we are dealing with politicians… 😉
The case of the daffy daffodils may remain a mystery forever. Great photo to illustrate your mystery flowers. Surely, the verse you chose should remain in our hearts.
I’m glad you are continuously getting better. Some people sure go out of their way to skip a dental appointment 🙂
#1 For some people, like me, any age is too old to ride a motorcycle.
#2 Seems doubtful.
#3 This one doesn’t make sense, either.
#4 There needs to be a law to keep people from parking an elk in their sandbox???
I think you made up #2.
Author
Love your way of reasoning these out, Tim…we’ll see…
The daffodils are pretty! I’ve been terrible at these, but I’m boldy picking number 4 this week because that’s just too crazy to be a law!
Author
Thank you, Priscilla…I just wished I knew where they came from. lol We’ll see next week if #4 is to crazy to be a law…
Going with fake law #4!
Squirrels are often mystery gardeners. Wonder if that’s what happened in your yard.
Glad you are healing well. I face-planted tripping over a curb while out of town for a family member’s milestone birthday party. Spent the evening assuring people that my husband had no part in how my face looked. Been there and done that and don’t want to do it again! Thinking of you!
Author
I hadn’t thought of squirrels, Laurie! And I so agree about falling–been there done that don’t want to do it again!!
I hope #1 is false–it should be–but I think you made up #4.

We’ll see, Delores…
That’s a nice rustic photo, Pat. I especially like the red leaves around the base of the plants. The Scripture is a great comfort for all of life these days.
#1 I’m sure the people who are not allowed to ride motorcycles at age 88 are quite sad. However, as one who used to drive a motorcycle, I might agree with this. The getting on is fine, but it’s the getting off that’s the problem. Probably a wise law.
#2 I think there might be a lot less giggles and playtime from grandkids if grandparents have to stop making ugly faces to children. The laughter would be missed.
#3 I do think it’s a crazy law, because without chaining a wheelbarrow to a tree, it most likely will be stolen!
#4 Elks are pretty big and sandboxes fairly small. Can you see someone telling an elk what to do? Legal or illegal, I think an elk is going to do what an elk wants to do.
Going with #4
Glad you had a good time in Nashville and are safely home!
Author
I love that Scripture, Barbara! We’ll see if #4 is the correct incorrect answer. 😉 I love to go places but I also love to come home!
As usual, they’re all kind of ridiculous, but I’m going with #1, I don’t know I single 88-year-old that needs to be on a motorcycle
Author
I tend to agree, Susan…unless it’s me when I’m 88…
You wouldn’t!
Author
I might. lol
Random flowers…what happiness! So happy to hear that you’re healing and feeling better!
Oh, dear! How to choose which law you made up! You chose some real doozies! I’m going to randomly pick #3.
Author
Thank you, L.! I like random flowers~! And we’ll see next week if it’s #3.
#4
Author
We’ll see, Mary.
I am the age in #1 and no one has told me that I couldn’t ride my motorcycle. So I have to go with #3.
Author
Hi Stella! Love your answer, and we’ll see if it’s #3.
#2
Author
We’ll see, Joy!
I am guessing #2.
Author
Hi Gloria. We’ll see if it’s #2 next week…
I will go with #2. Glad you are improving, Pat!!
Author
Thanks, Jackie! We’ll see.
So glad you continue to improve Pat!
What a pleasant surprise – love the jonquils/daffodils! Lovely signs of spring! I remember as a child these flowers were called buttercups Whatever you call them they are beautiful!
I agree with you that trips are enjoyable but nothing beats coming home.

Author
Thank you, Miss Mary. Yes the buttercups were quite a surprise. We’ll see next week if it’s #2.
We have daffodils that still come up next to our garage. A man at a garden center gave our daughter some bulbs to plant when she was 3 or 4. She’s now 41.
I’m going to say #4.
Author
I love it, Gail! We’ll see if it’s #4 next week.
I’m going with #2 this week.
Author
We’ll see, Megan!
#2 and as for the daffodils they are beautiful and a squirrel probably planted them.
Author
I like the squirrel idea, Patricia! We’ll see next week if it’s #2.
The daffodils and the verse are lovely, and I like the idea of squirrels as voluntary gardeners. Also glad to know you’re healing. Stay well.
#2
Author
I like that idea, too, Kay! And thank you for you well-wishes! We’ll see if it’s #2 next week.
I like the picture. My wife metioned seeing buttercups somewhere yesterday. I looked out our back window this morning and saw some blooming on the edge of the school property next door. We had some unidentified plants growing around our yard 20 years ago. Someone told us that birds often deposit the seeds. That is a good verse to use.
I’m choosing #3 today. If it isn’t chained, you may as well put “For Steal” on the sign. I think a law that subjects anyone making ugly faces, etc., at children should be subject to arrest. I wouldn’t want my kids having nightmares because of the ugly faces someone made at them out in public. I wonder if we’re only seeing part of that law. The first one may be necessary in some places. There are people who have enough common sense to know when it’s time to sell the motorcycle and quit driving one, but others seem to have no common sense.
Author
Love your logic, Edward…and I like the idea of birds depositing seeds–I think that’s what happened when volunteer cherry tomatoes came up a few years ago. 😉 We’ll see if it’s #3 next week.
What a pretty surprise to find. That’s a beautiful Psalm that is so comforting. I’m glad you are starting to heal. That’s definitely not a fun way to get out of a dental appointment! I’m going to guess #2.
Author
I used to say I’d do about anything to get out of a dental appointment, but I didn’t have this week’s reason in mind. 😉 We’ll see next week if it’s #2.
Beautiful daffodils!
#4
Author
Thanks, Caryl…we’ll see next week if it’s #4.
#2 is my guess! glad you are healing!
Author
Hi Shelia! We’ll see next week if it’s #2…and thanks!!
They are all pretty strange. How about #3.
Author
I think so, too, Sally Jo! We’ll see if it’s #3 next week.
Wow! I don’t know where you find these crazy laws! I’ll guess #4 (I don’t want an elk doing it’s “potty” business in my sand box!) (And, how would you “keep” an elk!?
Author
Love it, MS Barb! We’ll see next week. 😉
I think #2
Author
We’ll see, Lisa!
My husband just recently read that Ann Margaret was still riding her Harley and she’s 82, so she will not like this law! And I would hope it’s illegal to have an Elk, it would have to be a pretty big sandbox, but people can have strange animals for pets, but I’m going with #2 that you made up. As someone said, a lot of laughter would sure be missed!!

Ms. Dottie, I think I would ride a Harley when I’m 82…we’ll see next week if it’s #2.
