More Crazy Crimes 10 ~ Mystery Question

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 46 Comments

More Crazy Crimes 10 is this week’s Mystery Question. If they get any crazier, I may not be able to come up with a suitable crime…but first the photo and verse.

I took this photo at the South Holston Lake and was intrigued with the couple. What were they  thinking, etc? Then this verse popped into my mind and I thought it was a perfect fit for the photo. I hope you enjoy!

Now for last week’s Mystery Question, More Crazy Crimes 9. As usual, three are true, and I made up one. Can you guess which one?
  1. A Good Samaritan noticed an elderly man being robbed, so he jumped in and punched the thief. The thief was so upset, he called the police to complain.
  2. A man was carrying a fancy box with his mother-in-law’s cremains when robbers assaulted him and grabbed the box. He could only imagine what they thought when they opened the box.
  3. The would-be shoplifters thought store clerks would be too busy at an office supply store back-to-school sale to notice them stealing. Unfortunately, it was also “Shop with a Cop” day when about 60 police officers showed up to help children pick out school supplies. They were quickly nabbed.
  4. A big-box store agreed to take back a printer from a dissatisfied customer. Then the clerk noticed some work the customer forgot to remove from the machine: Counterfeit bills.

And the answer is…#2. Congrats to all who guessed correctly!

Now for this week’s Mystery Question, More Crazy Crimes 9. As usual, three are true, and I made up one. Can you guess which one?
  1. Police stopped a woman at a DUI checkpoint, and they arrested her for being intoxicated. She decided to be helpful. “My husband’s right behind me, and he’s even drunker than I am.”
  2. Two men armed with machetes barged into a bar with the intention of robbing the place. Unfortunately for them, the bar was hosting a biker’s meeting. One ended up in the hospital, the other wrapped neatly in electrical wire.
  3. The convenience store burglar wasn’t hard to find after he consumed a package of Cheetos and left behind an abundance of orange prints that matched his prints on file from previous convictions.
  4. One man wanted to win the first prize money in a fishing tournament so badly he stuffed a 1-lb weight down its throat. Officials became suspicious when they placed it in a tank of water, and it sank.

Okay, Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments, and I’ll enter you in a drawing for one of Steve Hooley’s fine pens.

You can check out Steve Hooley’s fine pens! (value $60) Steve’s Hand-crafted pens are made from antique and historic wood dating back to the 1700s. Check out my friend’s pens at his website. (Due to shipping costs, winner must have a US address.) You can see his other pens here.

And here’s this week’s song. It really spoke to my heart!

Such a peaceful photo, and I agree about the words of Paul fitting perfectly.
I love Sandi Patty’s songs. Thank you.

    Crazies all.
#1. There will be trouble in camp tonight!
    #2. Oops. Wrong bar.
#3. Ah, the Cheeto Bandido strikes again.
#4. Sure. When you’re really bad at something, cheat.
I think you made up #3 this week. Never did like Cheetos that much.

I’m happy for the couple in your picture. It looks like a romantic outing. I’m going with #3 this week because everyone knows you can’t eat Cheetos without leaving behind evidence!

I’m going with #1. I had a good laugh on that one. They were all SOoooo crazy.

This pic looks like a spot near me on Cherokee Lake. . .which I have always loved. Your pic was so delightful and peaceful. And THAT was one of my life verses for years. Love it.

Barbara, are you familiar with Bean Station? In the early 70s when I was in college in Wilmore, KY, we would travel 11W from Bristol and then take 25E up through the Cumberland Gap to get to I-75 at Corbin. We used to enjoy getting glimpses of Cherokee Lake as we drove south on 25E on our trips home.

I haven’t seen South Holston Lake, but the picture reminds me of Cherokee Reservoir further west on the Holston River. When I have seen Cherokee Reservoir from US 25E north of Morristown, TN, it seems the water level has always been way down just as the lake in your picture. All that said, it is a relaxing scene and a great verse.

I’m choosing #3. It seems like the man would wise up and stop eating Cheetos if his orange prints matched the prints from previous convictions. He should at least mix it up and eat something different each time so he leaves a different color.

Edward, you’re talking about the same Cherokee Reservoir lake Barbara was, I do believe. I’ll have to check it out sometime when I’m up that way next summer. As for the dumb criminal, I don’t think he always had Cheetos on his fingers…but we’ll see if the ever popular #3 is the correct answer next week…

Love your logic, Edward! Sorry I’m late to answer…got distracted. lol We’ll see tomorrow if it’s #3…The South Holston Lake was really pretty in September. I understand they’ve had a little snow since then…

Hi Patricia, your lake photo looks so relaxing and what a lucky couple to take advantage of it! It does remind me also of the Cherokee Lake and also of our Douglas
Lake which is nearby. It looks like a good place to go read and talk to the Lord!

Sounds like the Cheetos bandit forgot to lick his fingers like you’re suppose to when you eat them, but I’m still going with #1.
