It’s the 4th of July week! And now I can say the year is definitely half over! Forgive my bad math a couple of weeks ago. Never was one of my strong subjects, in fact, the only “D” I ever made was in math.
The sale on Justice Delivered ended Sunday night, but guess what?? The ebook of Justice Betrayed, my Elvis book–actually the book where Elvis impersonators are being murdered–is on sale for $1.99 at Amazon, B&N, and Christian Books! If you haven’t read it, here’s your chance to get it at a great price!
Now onto last week’s Mystery Question. Three of the scenarios are true and one is made up. Can you tell which one:
- A man’s garage door malfunctioned so he installed a camera until he could get it repaired. His neighbor came over and borrowed a paintbrush, saw the camera and took it, too. But he forgot to turn it off and police quickly traced it through its live streaming.
- The crooks made their way to the open air tank at a zoo and quickly slipped a baby shark into a stroller and then strolled out. Once again a camera foiled them by catching them as they put the shark into the back of a pickup along with the tag number.
- I’m not exactly sure which crime this one covers, but video captured a man taking a bubble bath in the sink at a fast food restaurant.
- This guy should get Father of the Year for covering up the $500 theft of his son’s sales from selling Boy Scout popcorn with a fake armed robbery. Again a camera foiled him when the alleged robbery failed to show up on security footage.
Now to this week’s Mystery Question. Four scenarios where people lied to the police. Three are true, one is made up. Which one? Leave your answer in the comments and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a book from my library!
- Police responded to a “robbery in progress” at a local car wash. The distraught victim claimed two men had robbed him at knifepoint of his wedding band. Surveillance cameras recorded a different picture–that of the man pulling into the car wash and then making a call that corresponded to the 911 call. Turns out he’d lost his wedding ring and didn’t want to tell his wife.
- A Dollar General store employee claims she was robbed by an armed robber as she carried the money to the bank for a night deposit. The police questioned why she was making a deposit at two in the morning when the store closed at ten. Clues led them to the local casino where video showed her losing the exact amount she was supposed to deposit.
- A postal employee reported being robbed of $40 by a gun-wielding robber. Unfortunately for the postal employee, where he claimed it happened was right in front of a school that had multiple surveillance cameras set up.
- A teacher was running late to work so he called the police and claimed two men posing as police officers pulled him over. Several hours were spent going door-to-door investigating the crime before the teacher finally broke down and admitted it was a hoax. The school plans disciplinary actions once the police are finished with him.
Okay Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answer in the comments and I’ll enter you in a drawing for either an Inspirational Adult coloring book or a book from my library!
June’s winner is Monique!

Hi, Mary! We’ll see next week if it’s #1! Thanks for commenting.
Well, #4 worked last time, so I think you made up #4 again. Who would buy that excuse easily checked?
Or maybe not so easily checked, as I reread the text. I’m still going with #4.

Now, Tim, do you really think I’d be devious to use the same number twice in a row?? Probably. 🙂 But then again…we’ll see next week. Thanks for stopping by!

We’ll see, Lisa. Thanks for stopping by!
I’ll say #2. Although when my son was a manager at a Taco Bell, a co- manager was supposed to deposit the money late at night but claimed she was robbed in the parking lot of the bank. She was caught!

I’ll bet that happens more than we think, Paula! Thanks for commenting!
Technically, all of these were “made up” since the individuals in each scenario were lying. 🙂 However, I am choosing #4 as the made up lie.

Ah, Edward, I knew I could count on you to come up with that! 🙂 However, I truly made one of them up. Thanks for stopping by and adding to the conversation!
I hope #4 is made up.

I’m going to go with #4 as well this week. I still can’t get over that a Wendy’s employee took a bath in the sink, my question is WHY? LOL!!
Thanks Patricia, hope you and yours had a fun & safe 4th of July!
