Happy Thanksgiving Week!

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 34 Comments

These are probably two of the prettiest trees in my neighborhood! I love the fall colors!

Last week was lots of fun for me. I loved hearing from everyone and all the winners’ books are in the mail. And now I have a couple of announcements. I’m taking a few weeks off from the blog because….I’m going to Israel after Thanksgiving!

Next Sunday I board a plane for Miami, then onto Barcelona, Spain, and from there to Tel Aviv for twelve days. Five will be in Galilee and seven in Jerusalem! The only reason I’m posting it online is someone will be staying at my house, so I’m not advertising my house will be empty. And I’ll be posting photos!

I plan to post a Reader Friday blog, but then I don’t plan to post again until I return for a number of reasons: 1. I may not have Internet; or 2. I’m having so much fun I’ve forgotten; or 3. I forgot to bring my laptop. 🙂

Even if I have internet, I may be late commenting…I have no Idea what the time difference is. I mean, I know there is an eight-hour difference, but not only am I directionally challenged, but I also can not comprehend a change in time. Once when I went to the west coast, I couldn’t figure out if I was two hours later than back home or two hours earlier. It was very confusing. lol

I may have a few odd and end posts in December. I have a February 1, 2019 deadline and this story simply isn’t talking to me. I had planned to have the first draft finished by the time I left for Israel…well, not happening. So when I return, I’ll be writing eight to ten hours a day…not what I had planned for the Christmas holiday!

Now for the answer to the November 6th Mystery Question:

A thief had trouble breaking into a restaurant. He forced his way into the warming vestibule but then was stymied by the second door. Which one of the four statements below did I make up?

  1. The surveillance video shows him looking through the glass door to see if the building is empty before trying to get the second door unlocked.
  2. He brought a tool to dismantle the lock, but that didn’t gain him entry.
  3. He spent several minutes pulling on the door, but couldn’t get it open. Somehow he missed the sign that said push.
  4. The warm vestibule caused him to become drowsy as he worked on the lock, and he fell asleep only to be awakened by the owners arriving to get the restaurant open for the breakfast crowd.

And the answer is…#4. 🙂 Congrats to all who guess right. He actually spent seven minutes pulling on the door instead of pushing it…

Friday I will announce the winners of the November Drawing for both the Mystery Question blog and the Reader Friday blog.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

How exciting you get to go to Israel! Right now I have a group of friends, who are hearing impaired, visiting Israel, and have enjoyed their posts, pictures, & videos on Face Book! One friend posted a picture of hand carved wooden items: the nativity (YES, I want the small one!), the last supper, and of Noah’s ark! The details were stunning! 🙂 Enjoy your travels! 🙂

I’m not sure which I like best: the pictures of the trees at the beginning or the one of the turkey at the end. That’s one delicious looking turkey. The trees remind me of one in our back yard. Have a wonderful trip to Israel. I have heard many say that you never come back the same. God bless!

Edward, glad you like the turkey. lol I won’t be having turkey since I don’t like it. Will be having chicken and dressing, though. I’ve been told I won’t be the same. Thanks for stopping by.

Oh Pat!!! I am so thrilled for you. I know you will enjoy walking in the steps where Jesus walked and examining everything through your inquisitive, analytical mind. Maybe a book series will even come out of it.!!!! Be safe and prayers for your journey!!

I hope you get to go one day, Diane. I’m going with a friend who has been 6 times. This will make her 7th visit and complete 100 days for her. She knows all the good places to go. 🙂

I will live vicariously through your pictures of Isreal, Patricia! What an amazing opportunity for you I just feel bad that it will mean longer writing days for you afterwards!

I had a feeling the push-pull thing was true because I’ve done it so many times myself it’s not even funny! Glad to know I was correct in my thinking. As for time zones, try having your mom live in New Zealand like mine does!! Try wrapping your mind around the fact that they are a while DAY ahead. So yeah, I can totally relate with you.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving and a wonderfully refreshing, fun and delightful trip!!

Sounds like a great trip. I went to Israel in 1994 with my sister who was singing some concerts with the Tel Aviv Symphony. Be sure to go to Jaffa (Joppa in the Bible) . It is next door to Tel Aviv. I thought Europe had old buildings until I saw Ramses II’s Gate which dates to 1700 B.C. Now that’s old! We didn’t get to Jerusalem because of unrest. Yasser Arafat waited 27 years to come back to Israel, and he picked my 2 weeks. Thanks…not! Anyway, it was a great trip, and you will enjoy yourself very much. Time zones mess me up too, but think that when you are getting up, we are still asleep. When you are going to sleep, we are in mid-afternoon. Be safe but enjoy yourself.
