Happy February!

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 42 Comments

Hello everyone! I’m baaaaccck…sort of. Before you ask, no the book isn’t finished, but my editor gave me a reprieve and an extension! One day I’ll do a blog post on what you do when your story won’t talk to you. 🙂

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year and you’ve thawed out from last week’s Polar Vortex! This time last week it was in the 20s here in North Mississippi. Today it’s 70 degrees! Thank goodness.

Now on to this week’s Mystery Question. For 15 tense minutes, a shop owner stared down a half-dozen wannabe armed robbers in the middle of the afternoon. He told them it was a bad time since he didn’t have any money and to come back later. Three of the following are true, one answer I made up. Which one did I make up?
  1. They left and actually came back at 5:30.
  2. When he told the police, they didn’t believe him, so he had a few of his friends ready with baseball bats and guns and he and his friends captured the would-be robbers when they returned.
  3. He told them it was still too early and to come back in an hour when he would be closed.
  4. The cops didn’t believe the robbers would come back, and the plainclothes detectives they sent weren’t exactly prepared.

Okay, Super Sleuths, which answer did I make up? Leave a comment with your answer and be entered in a drawing for Justice Betrayed!

Glad you got a reprieve! I’m picturing in jailbird clothes being unhandcuffed. LOL. I was so thrilled to have our temp here in Canada up from -22 to +12 yesterday that I spent the ENTIRE day outside with grandchildren. Ah, it’s amazing how warm 50F feels after being so cold! 🙂

Glad to see you could come up for a bit of air…and that you got a reprieve! I am going to guess #2 (it seems to be the trending answer, at any rate!). That what he did worked at all is amazing!!

I choose #2 for this one. Regardless of which one is correct, the shop owner was obviously dealing with a group of losers.
