Happy 2020

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 55 Comments

Happy 2020

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and that 2020 will be Grreattt! as Tony the Tiger used to say.

I never thought I would hear myself say that I like routine, but it’s nice to be back in a routine! With the holidays coming in the middle of the week, Wednesday seemed like Monday, which made Thursday Tuesday…and you get the picture. lol

I had a very sweet, quiet Christmas with a couple of friends over and then more friends over for a New Years supper of black-eyed peas, mustard greens, sweet potatoes, and fried hog jowl!  (I usually don’t eat anything fried! 🙂 )

Since I’m not finished with the book due February 1, 2020, I can’t promise that I’ll have a post up twice a week, but I’ll try! Now onto this weeks Mystery Question:

Here are four facts…three are true, one is false. Can you guess which one?
  1. A New Orleans hotel offered a $15,000 stay to a whoever stole the “most outrageous” item from them.
  2. A meteor hit our atmosphere a couple of years ago, and exploded with a force that was 10 times the energy of the Hiroshima atomic bomb, but it went unnoticed until after the fact.
  3. The tallest dog was an Irish Wolfhound that was 4′ tall and comes in at over 7′ when he stood on his hind legs.
  4. A woman who lost her wedding ring found it 16 years later on a carrot in her garden.

Okay Super sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answer in the comments and I’ll enter you in a January drawing at the end of the month for a book from my library.

I want to go with number two. So glad you had a lovely Christmas and New Years! I sunburned my shoulders really badly on Christmas Day, weeding in the driveway… oops! New Years Day was spent giving out around 100 presents (everyone gives everyone else a gift)! I hope this year becomes a year of joy and accomplishment!

Happy New Year! I agree routine is nice but it’s definitely enjoyable when holidays or vacations give us a little something different to do. I’m going to guess #1 is false.

Hi Nicole! I usually say I don’t like routine. lol. I’m sure when my family read that about me liking routine they laughed. We’ll see if it’s #1 next week. Thanks for being a part of my blog!

Christmas was difficult for us this year, as we lost my mother in December 21, and buried her the day after Christmas. Nine years ago, my father died on Christmas day. So this time of year is always bittersweet. I hope you finish your book on schedule. I’m going to guess that #1 is false.

Ah, happy New Year Pat, and to everyone. I’m confident you’ll meet your deadline.
Something tells me you are going to be even trickier with your mystery questions in 2020. I am going with #3 being false.

I’m just now getting back into my routine, and I’m content. I guess #1 about the hotel of the scenarios above.

I’m as surprised as anyone about missing my routine, Suzanne! But I’m liking getting back to work… not that I actually ever totally quit during the holiday. lol. I think there were two days that I didn’t write.

I see a trend with #1…we’ll see next Tuesday! Always good to see you here!

Lucy, I finally got my tree down Sunday. Not sure I have all the other things put away yet…would you please come to my house and organize me??? Clean, too, if you want to. lol We’ll see if it’s #2 next week! Thanks for being a part of my blog!

  6. Mary Hart

I think it’s #2. I enjoyed Christmas, but am happy to have everything put away & be back to normal. I do still have a few snowmen around that stay up through Feb.

Do you really eat the hog jowls? I thought that was something people only talked about but didn’t really do. LOL! I am starting the New Year where I left off in 2019. I’m choosing #1 again. No particular reason other than if I stick with 1, it has to be correct sometime. 🙂

Hope it isn’t #1. Not sure I’d want to stay in a hotel that rewards theft. #2 is possible if it fell into wilderness like Russia or parts of China. There was a huge wolfhound service dog who visited me while I was in the hospital, That one is easy to believe. The carrot, if she originally lost it in the garden, sure. I’ll go with #1. Can’t wait for that book to add to the others I’ve enjoyed. Thoroughly enjoy seeing you here each week.

Look forward to seeing you, too, Regina! I hope to be at KenTen, but I’m waiting for my granddaughter to choose a wedding date…she’s thinking about June…and we’ll see if being different is the right answer. lol Always good to see you here!

Christmas was a little difficult this year. I have a new cancer diagnosis and begin treatment right before Christmas, and also we lost my sister-in-law a few weeks before Christmas. We still managed to enjoy some time with the grandchildren, but it was not our usual Christmas. I am guessing # 2 for this one.

I am going to guess #3. The new year was met with me getting a cold. Christmas was quiet due to mom’s major health issues.

Aww, Erika, I’m sorry about your mom’s health issues and your cold! I’ll pray for your mom. I’ve been trying to avoid everyone the last few days with the flu rampant in our area. Hope you all are better soon!

Huh, if google can be believed, they are all true…the Roosevelt hotel, the explosion in Dec over the Bering Strait, the wolfhound and a Swedish woman’s diamond ring, complete with pictures. Of course, I didn’t read the entire article for each to find out if one was falsely reported. Hmm. Happy New Year! from someone who should be working on her next book, instead of googling interesting trivia. LOL 🙂
