From the Police Blotter

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 51 Comments

[tweet_dis_img inject=”How hard is it to write a blog with a cat in your lap?”][/tweet_dis_img]

What we won’t do for our pets. I’m trying to write this blog, but Suzy wants to take a nap in my lap, so I’m sitting here all twisted sideways so I won’t disturb her. 🙂 Now back to the blog…

I’m taking a break from spring cleaning to go visit my daughters in Florida but I did get a couple of rooms deep cleaned and plan to try out the zone cleaning–you know, clean a zone each week. Of course, when I get deep into writing the first Natchez book, that may go by the wayside.

Now onto last week’s Mystery Question: A woman stopped in the middle of the road and without turning on her hazard signals, jumped out and tried to catch the meandering ducks. A truck swerved to avoid hitting her parked car and behind the truck were two motorcycles with a couple and their sixteen-year-old son. The husband and son were killed. The driver who stopped to catch the ducks was charged with two counts of criminal negligence and two counts of dangerous driving causing death. If convicted she could be sentenced to life in prison. Which of the following is NOT true:

  1. She was found guilty and sentenced to 90 days in jail and 3 years probation.
  2. She was found guilty and sentenced to a year in jail and two years probation.
  3. She was found guilty and her sentence included 240 hours of community service.
  4. She was found guilty and was banned from driving for 10 years.

And the answer is…#2.  Next time I won’t have contradictory answers. lol Congrats to everyone who got it right!

Now for this week’s Mystery Question on reports from the police blotter: Three of the following reports are true. I made up one. Can you guess which one?
  1. Police responded to a report of two dogs running loose and attacking ducks. One duck refused medical attention and left the area.
  2. A man reported that his neighbor’s dog is a jerk.
  3. A caller reported a squirrel was stealing his bird seed and demanded the police arrest the squirrel.
  4. Police received a report a man was attacking the double arches after McDonald’s employees refused to make him 30 double cheeseburgers.

Okay, Super Sleuthers, which report did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments, and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a $10 gift card and a book from my library.

Haha, it’s hard to tell which one is fake because they’re all so hilarious! It’s crazy to think three of them are REAL. Okay, my guess is number four because SURELY a customer didn’t attack the golden arches!

They’re all so improbable and zany, aka “nutty”, it’s hard to believe any are true. I’ll go w/ #3 this week, a request to arrest to squirrel (which is totally “squirrely”, but my guess is pretty much a stab in the dark. Can’t wait to hear the right answer!!!

Ah, Leandra, you’re going with something different. 🙂 If you can’t tell, I’m starting with the last comments and b\going back since I’m in Florida seeing my great-granddaughter for the first time! Thanks for stopping by!

#1, I’m guessing. So funny! I especially got a good laugh out of your cat on your lap! SO cute! 🙂 That’s sweet she’ll sleep on your back in your lap like that! And I can totally relate to going to extremes for our pets–I sit twisted a lot at my computer and hold up my legs to create a level lap surface for one of my cats, too. And I have the sore neck to prove it! haha 🙂
