Dumb & Dumber–Mystery Question

Dumb & Dumber--Mystery Question

Dumb & Dumber this week’s Mystery Question says it all. I thought last week I had found some of the most absurd crimes…until I started looking. But first the photo.

I took it Saturday afternoon after I finished putting up the two flags and poles. This involved a hammer and drill, and no, I did not end up in the ER. Although I did break a pencil lead off in my thumb. Tools (and yes this involves mechanical pencils) and I DO NOT GO together. It’s why I usually hire my work done, but I thought anyone can put up a flagpole. 🙂

Once I had the flags up, I collapsed in my recliner where I can see both flags and when the wind unfurled them, my heart swelled and tears came to my eyes. Even as bad as things sometimes see, I am proud of our country and thankful to be a Christian.

Now onto last week’s Mystery Question–You Won’t Believe These. Four odd crimes…three are true, one is false. Can you guess which one I made up?
  1. When a woman’s stimulus check didn’t come in the mail, she “borrowed” the money from her mother and stole her checkbook, forging a $1,200 check on her mother’s account. She was not at all happy when her mother had her arrested.
  2. Police arrested SPEEDY GONZALEZ after several months on the run for stealing more than $3,000 worth of checks from a guy’s mailbox. It’s not clear if he tried to outrun the officers or not. And yes, that’s his legal name.
  3. Officers charged a serial arsonist in Wisconsin this week for using underwear to set people’s homes on FIRE. He told the cops he liked to steal underwear from Laundromats and use it to start the fires.
  4. Needing to deposit some cash, a man  went to his bank’s drive-thru and put it in the pneumatic tube. Unfortunately, he also put in two bags of cocaine. And the teller called the police…and they arrested him.

And the answer is…#1. Congrats to all who guessed correctly.

Dumb & Dumber this week’s Mystery Question. Four odd crimes…three are true, one is false. Can you guess which one I made up? I’m telling you up front, it’s getting really hard to think up a crime dumber than these…
  1. Two Florida men have been arrested after officials say they pretended to be federal marshals to walk around a resort without wearing masks. I just have to give a little more about this– They even had a card titled, “FACEMASK EXEMPT NOTICE/CARD” and badges that identified them as U.S. Marshals.
  2. And here’s another Covid Check crime: In April of 2020, police arrested four men after they held a woman against her will for over four hours while demanding the money from her coronavirus relief check.
  3. A woman turned in a lottery ticket for the $200,000 prize only to be arrested when officials scanned the front and back of the ticket and it didn’t match the winning ticket. They discovered she’d glued the winning number on the front. The bad part is, she’d actually won $2,000.
  4. Police arrested an Oklahoma man he stole a truck that contained a sleeping man and a goat and went on a 130-mile trip through three states. It wasn’t his first run-in with the law. He had multiple prior felony convictions including assault, burglary, and possession of a stolen vehicle, but he’d never stolen a goat before.

Okay Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a $10 gift card!

These are hilarious. I can’t imagine stealing a truck w/ a sleeping man and a goat–there have to be easier ways to get ahead in life. I’ll go with #2 this week, holding the woman for 4 hrs. to get her COVID relief $. I love your flags, by the way, and that you love them. Thanks for adding to our joy (and curiosity) each week.

Glad you liked the four crimes, Delores! And I’m really enjoying the flags and thank you for the Christian one you gave me for my birthday. 🙂 We’ll see next week if it’s #4.

One gets a lot of satisfaction from accomplishing those little projects like putting up flag poles. Even the owies aren’t so bad after the work is done, and we can relax and view our work. Good job, Pat!

What can I say about the dumb criminals of this world? They leave me shaking my head. Greed is the driver of foolishness. I will say you made up #3 this week. The irony is good though, and made me smile.

Regina, I did get to use the power tool! Not too well, but I used it. lol I’m glad you had a good laugh this morning with my little quiz. 🙂 We’ll see next week if it’s #2. Thanks for stopping by!

Love the flags!! Definitely something to consider when I someday own my home.
Just when I think people can’t really be that dumb….. #3. And I agree with Tim – love the irony 🙂

It did hurt, especially when I had to use a needle to get the pencil lead out. lol. But it’s fine now. And we’ll see next week if it’s #4. Thanks for always stopping by.

Oh my goodness these get harder every week! 🙂 I’ll go with #1 because I’ve not heard of any such facail mask exemption card. Though I have heard rumor disabled people are the exception, but I don’t know if there are official cards they can carry. That’s my guess anyway 🙂

Nice photo. Well, I know it’s not #1 because I saw that story on the news. It’s crazy the things people do to avoid wearing a mask. I guess I’m going to go with #2.

    Great job on the flags!

I’ll just have to take a shot in the dark on these dumb criminals. I am starting to realize that there is no way to logically figure these out. Logic and dumb have a difficult time existing together. One of my favorite terms from my IT days is PEBCAK – Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard. The people in these snippets remind me of some of those I had to deal with through the years. I’ll choose #3 and see if I win the “lottery.”

Edward, I think you’re right about the logic and the criminals. And it’s getting really hard to come up with a crime to match these dumb criminals. lol We’ll see if you win the “lottery” next week. Thanks for always stopping by!
