Crazy State Laws #56 is this week’s Mystery Question. I’ve found a new website with more crazy laws if you can believe it! And time for a word count update! As of Monday night, I have 69,000 words… 🙂
Now for the photo and verse. The photo was taken back in 2015 when I went to Minnesota and the North Shore and then on to Canada. It was May 13 and there was still ice on the trees! I’ll be making that trip again come July. 🙂 And I came across this verse as I studied Psalm 119. I love that psalm.
Now for last week’s Mystery Question about crazy state laws. Three laws are on the books somewhere and I made up one of them. Your job is to figure out which one I made up…
- It’s illegal to drive a car without a steering wheel here. (IL)
- You can’t take a photo of your hunting trophy using a flash camera in this state. (MT)
- Have a dog that needs to relieve himself? Don’t let him do it in a full parking lot.
- Here you must feed the parking meter if you tie an elephant, goat or alligator to it. (FL)
And the answer is…#3! Congrats to all who guessed correctly.
Now for this week’s Mystery Question about crazy state laws. Three laws are on the books somewhere and I made up one of them. Your job is to figure out which one I made up…
- You can be arrested if you tie your dog to the roof of your car here–even if it’s in a cage.
- Here you have to have a permit to exterminate rodents. Otherwise, you can be fined.
- By the way, you can be arrested if you drive sheep without supervision in this state.
- Better not wear shorts before May 16 or after Labor Day if you’re driving a taxi –you can be fined.
Okay, Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answer in the comments and I’ll enter you in a November drawing for a $10 gift card.
Thank you all for your support with the release of Deadly Revenge! It is still under 70 in Amazon’s top Christian Mystery and Suspense!

Yay! I finally got one right from last week…good ole #3.
This week I’m going with #4.
I thought of you, Gail, when I wrote the answer to last week’s Mystery Question. lol We’ll see…
I’m going with #4 too.
Hi Mary…we’ll see if it’s #4 next week…
I’m going with #3.
Good old #3…we’ll see, Diana. 😉
I’m guessing it’s #2 but you have a gold mine here. They keep us royally entertained. And I’m very glad about your plans to go north next July!

I’m so glad you enjoy these, Delores…do you recognize the photo?
It’s a toss up, but I choose #1

Hi Charlotte…we’ll see…glad it wasn’t so easy this time. lol
Great photo, Pat. Good verse for it, but I might have trouble staying awake all night. Congratulations on your word count!
Ah, the crazy laws.
1. Dogs on car roofs is probably not a good idea. Not for the dog or the drivers seeing them.
2. I assume extermination implies some dangerous chemicals, so it makes sense.
3. Driving sheep without the supervision of whom? I think that would be important to state. And, do those sheep have steering wheels?
4. Don’t be short sighted when driving a taxi. Hmm.
I think you made up #3 this time.

As always I love the way you reason these out, Tim… we’ll see how it works out next week…
Ahhhh snow on the trees. YES!!! I love that verse. Psalm 119 is my favorite Psalm.
I guess I’m going with #3, but #2 comes in close.
It’s always fun to have a future trip and to look forward to it!

I sometimes think the anticipation of a trip is almost as good as the trip itself, Barbara! And Psalm 119 is a favorite of mine, too…we’ll see if it’ #3 next week…
Oh yes, I love the anticipation, making the lists and the prep work for the big event!!! Love it! Love! Love it!
YAY! Glad Psalm 119 is a favorite for you, too!
Keep up the good work on your word count! Lord, please let Pat’s thoughts, words and fingers fly and brim with ideas as she finishes up this MS. And help her to find moments of rest in between!

Thank you, Barbara!
Beautiful picture – the trip sounds lovely!
They all sound crazy to me – but I will choose #3.

They do all sound crazy, don’t they, Betti. We’ll see if the popular #3 is the right wrong answer…
I’m gonna say #4

Hi, Joy! We’ll see next week…
#1?
Author
Maybe, Barbie D! We’ll see…
I am guessing #4. Why would a state have a rule about someone wearing shorts?
Author
I ask this question about most of the laws, Gloria. lol We’ll see…
I really like the picture – such a deep blue sky. Great verse.
The third law raises more questions in my mind than answers. It seems very vague. I think #1 was made up. Since I don’t think the roof of a car is the proper place to transport a dog, this one actually makes sense. For that reason, I think you made it up.

Hi Edward! Very logical…except we are dealing with legislatures and some of them aren’t real bright. lol I love that photo. It was taken with an iPhone 6 and I’m surprised at what good photos it took!
#4

We’ll see, Shelia!
Oh, Patricia! This is so much fun, and I’ve learned a lot of different laws! Hmmm… I would guess #4 for this one! Have a wonderful weekend!
I’m so glad you’re enjoying the crazy state laws! It’s also a lot of fun finding them. I figure I can go on for years featuring them. lol
We’ll see next week if it’s #4!
It is a toss up between 3 and 4 for me, but I will go with #3.
Hi Carolyn! We’ll see…was it 3 last week? I never can remember. lol
#4 seems too silly to be real. But then… it probably is.
Don’t forget we’re dealing with elected politicians, Megan. lol We’ll see next week…
I’m going with #4.
I finally got through, I was having trouble and submitted 3 or 4 times!
Anyway, I wanted to tell you I love your photo and verse, the blues are absolutely beautiful.
I love that blue, Dottie. I took it after the sun went down and that created the color. 🙂
Dottie, we’ll see…
