Goofy Criminals Take 3; Psalm 8:1

Crazy Crimes Take 3–Mystery Question. I’ve been having fun with these so here we go again. I really had a hard time believing some of these were actually true…

But first the scripture verse and photo. I thought the photo from Bookbrush was perfect for the verse, which is one of my favorites.

Now for last week’s Crazy Crimes–Mystery Question: Here are four true crimes, well really three true crimes. I made up the fourth one. It’s up to you to figure out which three are true and which one isn’t.
  1. A mom dressed in skinny jeans, high-top sneakers, a hoodie, and a mask and went to school as her 13-year-old daughter. She hung out at school taking classes, talking to the principal, and eating chicken nuggets in the cafeteria. Nobody figured out she was a 30-year-old mom and not the 13-year-old kid until 7th period,
  2. The drunk teen stumbled into bed in the wee hours of the morning and woke up in trouble. Not for breaking curfew, but for mistaking whatever his intended destination was for an Airbnb rental full of cops. He woke up in handcuffs and a video shared to TikTok and Instagram.
  3. ALA Bonnie and Clyde, a couple started a career of robbing banks. At a small town in Alabama, the police happened to be at the right place at the right time when the call came in their local bank was in the process of being robbed. The couple led them on a wild chase until they took a turn on an unmarked dead-end road. A shoot-out ensued and the couple was captured.
  4. Police responding to a two-car accident discovered an odd thing when they arrived at the scene: The driver of one of the vehicles was gone. Then they discovered a second odd thing that might go a long way toward explaining the first: In the abandoned BMW were three burlap sacks with 70 bundles of cocaine worth $3.3 million.

And the answer is #3. A lot of you got this one correct…Congratulations!

Now for this week’s Crazy Crimes Take 3–Mystery Question: Here are four true crimes, well really three true crimes. I made up the fourth one. It’s up to you to figure out which three are true and which one isn’t.
  1.  Police in Britain received a “suspicious call” related to a burglary. It seems one of the burglars accidentally butt-called 999, the emergency number in the UK, and the police listened in on all of their antics up until the time they arrested them.
  2. With an outstanding warrant against him and a pulled driver’s license, a man thought it’d be a good idea to “borrow” his cousin’s driver’s license, especially since he looked enough like the photo to pass as the cousin. Unfortunately when he was pulled over for speeding, he was arrested. Turns out the cousin was wanted for armed robbery.
  3. Two apparent would-be thieves thought they had the perfect plan—one would grab a bunch of merchandise from the mall, and run back out to the parking lot, where the second guy would be waiting with the getaway car. It went off as planned until the car died with a dead battery. When police arrived the two were trying to get a jump start. The police obliged before they took them off to jail.
  4. A man in Florida purchased a Porsche 911 Turbo from a dealership in Destin on Monday for nearly $140,000. He drove off with the car just as the check bounced. The check he created on his home computer. He was later arrested for Grand Theft Auto.

Okay, Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answer in the comments and I’ll enter you in a June drawing for a $10 gift card.

Crazy Crimes Take 3 is this week's Mystery Question. As usual, 3 are true, 1 is made up. Can you guess which one? Leave your answer in the comments for a June Drawing for a $10 gift card. #Mysteryquestion #giftcard Share on X

Wow, talk about crazy crimes and criminals. All could be real, and all could be made up. Hmm. I think the cousin speeding with a “borrowed” driver’s license in #2 “may” be too dumb to be true. I don’t know, Pat. You’re really getting good at this.

Regarding the photo and verse, wow what a good match. The photo is a beautiful example of God’s majesty. And to quote another verse, “The heavens declare the glory of God.” Thank you.

I almost used that scripture, Tim. And thank you! It’s getting harder and harder to come up with the false one. lol. Thanks for stopping by. We’ll see next week if it’s the correct answer. 😉

I think it’s #2 or #4 this time but I’ll go w/ #4. I think a dealership would be more sure of payment before releasing the car. These are all “good” though 🙂

    Interesting picture and great verse.

I choose 2. One can choose their friends, but relatives are part of the package we receive at birth. If you hang out with relatives, you should know more about them than friends, meaning if they are “trouble” you should know it and try to stay away from them, rather than using their ID.

Elizabeth, I cannot look at the night sky and now have goosebumps all over. It is just awesome! Thanks for stopping by. We’ll see next week if #2 is the correct answer.

Oh gosh, I can’t even choose this week because they are all so believable! I’ll go with #4 just because 🙂

I love this scripture because it’s part of a song I’ve sang! How can anyone look at creation (the stars, or moon, or even a sunset or sunrise) and not know there is a Creator (God)?
