Coincidences and Other Things ~ Mystery Question

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 52 Comments

Coincidences and Other Things is today’s Mystery Question simply because I ran across these interesting facts and thought they’d make a great Mystery Question post!

But first the photo and verse. When I leave my neighbor’s house after checking on her each afternoon, I have caught some amazing photos! This is one of them. I was late to Pilates, but when I saw this scene, I took time to snap a photo or two and I had just read that verse in my daily reading. It seemed to fit so well.

Now for last week’s More Crazy Laws. Three of these laws are actually on some state’s books. And I made up one–although I can’t completely guarantee that the one I made up isn’t on the books somewhere…but as far as I know, it isn’t. Let’s see if you can guess which one I made up.
  1. You can’t collect seaweed in this state at night. New Hampshire
  2. If you’re on the library board in this state, you must swear you haven’t participated in any duels. Kentucky
  3. Here you can’t ride your horse on the front porch.
  4. In this state, it’s illegal to scare a pigeon. Massachusetts

And the answer is…#3. Congrats to all who guessed correctly And sorry that I had the wrong answer earlier!

Coincidences and Other Things. Three of the coincidences are true.  And I made up one–Let’s see if you can guess which one I made up.
  1. The US President in 1841 has a living grandson
  2. John Wilkes Booth’s brother saved Todd Lincoln’s life.
  3. Two Dennis the Menace cartoons by different artists debuted on the same day on two different continents.
  4. Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin were born on the same day and exchanged letters about evolution.

Okay, Super Sleuths which one of these coincidences did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments, and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a book from my library!

Wow! What a fantastic photo, Pat! And Psalm 8:1 goes right with it. Beautiful!

Oh, these coincidences are both funny and tough to decide which is made up. Any could be true or false. There’s really no logic that I can apply. Stumpsville. I’ll say you made up #4.

Amazing photo!!! Love the brilliance of the colors. They look warm. Brrrr lol

I think I have to go with #3 and the Dennis the Menace scenario. . . why because they are all so crazy and he’s my time frame. lol

Pat, you have quite the knack for getting those timely shots that result in some great pictures. I love this one. I don’t think you could have picked a better verse.

I’m choosing #3. Please! One Dennis the Menace is enough! LOL!

P.S.: I sent you an email about this post.

Hi Edward, and thanks for the email. I incorrectly said #2 was the answer to last week’s question and it’s actually #3. I have corrected it…now we’ll see if it’s #3 this week…next week. 😉

Bless you Pat for being a good neighbor!
I agree with Edward one Dennis the Menace is enough although I’m sure most of us have had a Dennis in our lives at some point! LOL
    I’ll guess #3

I’m not sure about the coincidences, but if I’d seen the last blog with the crazy laws, I could attest that library board members in KY really DO have the duel-fighting part! It’s always good for a laugh at a board meeting! LOL!

You take some beautiful pictures. The verse is a very good fit. It’s so sweet of you to check on your neighbor. Good neighbors are such a blessing. I’m going to guess #1.

Goodness, these are as crazy as the Crazy Laws!! I’m going with some of the others on #4, mainly because of the Evolution part, and just don’t know!
I love your picture and verse as always, next week will you be doing snow??
