Bathroom Reveal and Reports from the Police Blotter

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 65 Comments

FINALLY! My bathroom remodel is complete! And here are the before and after photos. First the guest bathroom, which previously was the largest. It had a small entry hall that I took in.

Now the remodel:

And now for the bathroom off my bedroom. First the before: This was taken from the doorway. I could stand at the sink and touch every wall. 😉

Now the after: The window showing on the left is a reflection. There’s only one window in the room and it previously was in the other bathroom. 🙂

I’m really loving my shower!

Now for last week’s Mystery Question: Three of the following crimes are true. One is not. Can you guess which one is false?
  1. A teen “borrowed” a phone to call for a ride home and failed to return it. The owner reported it to the police and an officer made a FaceTime call…and snapped a photo of the man who answered.
  2. A man thought it would be funny to put on a mask and “pretend” to rob his brother. Unfortunately, the brother pulled out a gun and wounded the “robber” in the shoulder.
  3. A man was charged with Driving Under the Influence and insisted that his photo not be released to the local newspaper. His pleas went unheard and his photo and arrest record was posted in the paper. Not to be thwarted, he followed the delivery trucks and purchased every paper put in the newsstands, spending more than $1500.
  4. Two men took a taxi to a house, had the driver to wait while they went in and stole a TV and liquor. Then they had the driver take them to their house. When they refused to pay him, the driver reported them to the police–the moral? Be sure to pay your getaway driver.

And the answer is…#2…but the others…I’m still shaking my head.

Now for this week’s Mystery Question: Three of the following reports from the police blotter are true. One is not. Can you guess which one I made up?
  1. A woman reported her ex-boyfriend showed up uninvited at her house, demanding she open the door. When she refused, he told her if she didn’t open the door, he’d take it off the hinges. When she heard a drill at the back door, she called 911.
  2. A woman reported a man she didn’t know knocked on her front door. When she refused to answer, he went up the road and pulled over. That’s when she called the police. The deputy discovered he was having car trouble.
  3. A woman reported she was backing out of her driveway and a woman was standing in the road and would not move. The woman started banging on the window and accusing the driver of stealing her car. Startled, the driver looked down and saw a purse that didn’t belong to her. She’d accidentally gotten into the wrong car.
  4. A woman pressed charges on her 45-year-old mother for stealing her car. When the mother came home, the got into an altercation and the police were called.

Okay, Super Sleuths, which story did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments and I’ll enter you into the July drawing for a book from my library…winner will announced next week.

The bathrooms look great! Yes, I bet you’re enjoying the new shower. It’s so cool with the glass surround.
I haven’t gotten one right yet, but here we go: I pick number 1 because usually the exterior doors open in (unless it’s a mobile home), so the ex-boyfriend wouldn’t be able to access the hinges to take the door off.

Yes, I am really enjoying the shower. The other shower was about 2 1/2′ by 2 1/2’…very claustrophobic! Great deductions, Priscilla! We’ll see next week if truth is stranger than fiction. 😉 Thanks for dropping by!

  2. Christine Battaglio

Priscilla’s logic is good but I will go with #3 because she would need keys to drive the car. Where would she get them?

There was a purse in the car…maybe the keys were in it, Christine. 😉 But that is great reasoning. We’ll see next week if it’s the correct incorrect answer. 😉 Thanks for dropping by!

    2. Tina Bodenheimer

OK the Keys needed to drive the car, but if she left the purse she may have left the keys.

Your bathroom looks great! I can only imagine how great it must have been to get it all settled.

My guess this week is #3. I don’t know how a woman could not know someone else’s car was in her driveway; nor do I know how she could drive it without keys, unless they were left in the car.

I’m not choosing #1 because when my 3-year-old once got locked in my mom’s upstairs bathroom, her FBI neighbor did access the hinge to get him out. I’m going with #3 instead–most of us accidentally get in the wrong car but it would be unusual for the keys to fit. May you enjoy your gorgeous remodel for many years to come!

Bathrooms look great! I am picking #1 since hinges are inside the door and cannot be reached if door is closed

Thank you, Shelia! The photos really do not do it justice…Love your deductions, Shelia! But as you know, truth is sometimes stranger than fiction…we’ll find out next week if you are correct! 😉

I’m guessing #4. My aunt was at a mall, came out, got in her car and started driving home. About halfway home she noticed that her charm was not hanging from her mirror. She then realized she was not driving her car. Her keys worked in someone else’s car. True story!

Love your new shower!! I’m going with #1. 3 could happen! My MIL was out shopping with her husband and some friends and got tired, so she went to the car, used her key to unlock it, and made herself comfortable in the back seat. After a few minutes, she looked around and realized the interior was a different color! Lol! Yes, the key unlocked the door and we’ve always wondered if it would start the car, too! Lol

Thanks, Gloria! I am enjoying them. About to get used to all the changes…my bathroom is where my closet used to be and my closet is where my bathroom is…
      Thanks for stopping by!

  8. Trixi

I want to say #3 because most cars nowadays won’t start or unlock without the correct key. I know older cars don’t have the electronic keys so it could also be an older model car. But I will stick with my answer and I know I could still be wrong 🙂

I am LOVING your new shower, it’s my dream one two…I don’t know what it is about glassed in showers that’s so appealing. They look so elegant, almost spa like! I’m so happy they are finally done and you get to enjoy them, that look great!

Trixi, would you believe the plumbers were here today changing out the vanity??? I discovered a chip in the basin… 🙂 But I am totally enjoying the shower!! It doesn’t feel so closed in. Thanks for stopping by and we’ll see about #3 next week.

  9. Edward Arrington

They did a nice job on your bathrooms, particularly the shower. I felt certain I would eventually get a right answer if I kept choosing #2. I knew you couldn’t hold out forever. LOL! I am choosing #3 this time. It sounds like it could have happened but why would another woman have her car parked in the driveway and be standing at the street? That seems fishy. And where was the car of the lady who lived there?

In this crazy world they all sound believable! I’m going with the most believable as the false one.

hmmm….I want to say #3, but, I drive a Prius, & as long as the fob is anywhere near the car, the doors can be unlocked, and the car started! So, now I’m re-reading the other choices…#4–I’m guessing that the mother had a legal right to drive the car & the daughter had been irresponsible–sigh…they all sound like they could’ve been police calls! And, your bathroom looks great! I’m glad you got a grab bar installed! 🙂

Oh, yes, MS Barb, the grab bar was one of the first things I told my contractor I wanted. lol. Love your reasoning…we’ll have to wait until next week to see if it’s correct. 😉 Thanks for stopping in.

Your bathrooms look great! I am going to guess #4…mostly because it has the least amount of information in it! No other reason other than that!

Your bathrooms are beautiful! I’m going to choose #3, just because it seems so unlikely! But, saying that, our car starts with the keys in my purse. We have gone somewhere only to find that the car won’t lock when we get out. My husband had forgotten his keys & the car started because mine were in my purse!

Wow…I’m having a really hard time figuring out which of these is false, I keep going between two…I think I’m going to say #1. I also thought 3 was a good one, but if someone had left keys in their vehicle, it wouldn’t be too hard to start it without noticing it’s not your own…but they all sound very closely equally ridiculous…or however that should be worded. 🙂

#1. It seems a little strange that he would have a drill with him. He did not know that she would refuse him entrance. Also, love the bathroom remodels. We need to start on ours.
