AUGUST MYSTERY QUESTIONS WEEK 2

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 46 Comments

Luke 1:78-79 August Mystery Questions Week 2 Because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven 79 to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”

The August Mystery Questions Week 2 will follow, but first a word about the photo. I was lucky enough to get up before sunrise one morning and captured the sun coming over the house across the street from me. The camera did a great job of capturing just how beautiful it was.

This past week I made my word count of 7500 words! Not easy with one day taken up with answering questions from the Office of the Inspector General. I told you Homeland Security had a file on me! LOL Then I had an annual doctor’s appointment. Once I got there and found twenty patients ahead of me, I rescheduled. With my afternoon already shot, I made two stops at different grocery stores (Don’t tell me you don’t shop that way). Then, the next day I had a hair appointment that totally shot the day. So, it was a miracle that I wrote those 7500 words.

Now for last week’s Mystery Question: Earlier this week I was reading my paper and ran across the Crime Reports. As always, three are true and I made up one.
  1. A woman returned home from the casino and found her side door standing open. She called 911 and claimed $500 was missing from her freezer. Deputies found nothing disturbed and no sign of forced entry, and they questioned her again. She admitted she’d lost the $500 at the casino and feared her husband would get angry.
  2. A woman pulled up to her apartment building and saw the maintenance man walking out of an apartment with a pistol in his hand, that he immediately tried to hide behind his back. He had previously said he had a bullet for her and her friends.
  3. A woman said her husband came into the bathroom and they argue over an empty bag of methamphetamine and she called 911. Deputies said she appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic and arrested her for possession of paraphernalia and the baggie with drug residue.
  4. A woman reported that overnight someone entered her unlocked car and stole $300 cash from her purse. She said the purse was hanging over the driver’s headrest.

And the answer is #1! I honestly can’t believe #4 myself!

Now for the August Mystery Questions Week 2: More dumb reports but this time not from around my area. 🙂 As always three are true and I made up one.
  1. A police chief lost a handgun and cell phone. It seems he allowed prisoners to wash his patrol car at the local training center.
  2. A teller demanded two forms of identification before she would give the bank robber the money. He produced a debit card and a driver’s license. He was sentenced to 25 years.
  3. A man was arrested after breaking into his own apartment. It seems he hadn’t paid rent for two months, and the apartment manager changed the locks, making it necessary for him to break in to retrieve his personal effects. Unfortunately, the police didn’t see it his way.
  4. A brothel in Australia complained to city planners about a church being built on their street, fearing it will bring the wrong sort of people into the area.

Okay, Mystery Sleuths, which is the made-up one? Leave your answer in the comment and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a $10 Amazon gift card at the end of the month.

As usual, 4 crimes, three, true, one false. Can you guess which one is false? You might win a $10 Amazon gift card! August Mystery Questions Week 2 at ptbradley.com/blog Share on X

I’ll say #2 as I would think the teller would be to scared to ask for ID. Your photo and verse are beautiful.

I hope #1 is made up, I hope any police officer, let alone a chief, would be so careless.
Your photo is awesome and the verse is beautiful.
Thanks for taking the time in your busy schedule to pick out and post these puzzles for us.

I would hope that #1 is the scenario that you fabricated. Surely a police officer would not be so trusting of prisoners.

Pat, glad you made your word count for the week in spite of the frustrations life sometimes serves. Great photo and message.

I think you made up #1. Like others have said, it’s hard to imagine a police chief leaving his handgun in the car. If he did, he should be the former police chief!

I’ll say #3 because I think the apartment owner would have put his possessions on the curb. Depending on the jurisdiction, he would have to give the guy time or notice to remove his stuff. ( I saw this at an apartment building we used to live in. To another tenant)

Hmmm… I’m torn between 1 and2 because I would hope neither one would be so dumb. That being said I think Ill pick #2 as the false one.

Great picture! I love the times when I see a scene like that and can get my camera to cooperate so I can capture it. Good job! The verse fits so well.

I think all of these are made up. LOL! Since #4 seemed like a winner to me last week, but wasn’t, I’m going with 4 again this week. Actually I can imagine each one of these happening somewhere. I think that was a sharp teller in 2. She was probably was a seasoned veteran and maybe had even faced a robber with a gun. Nothing is said about a weapon, so what’s to fear. The chief in 1 would have been dumber in the movie Dumb and Dumber. I imagine the tenant in 3 had received multiple notices.

As always I love your logic, Edward. Sometimes it works and then there are the other times. lol. I’m glad you like the photo. Would believe I take all the photos with my iPhone? Thanks for stopping by and brightening my day!

HAHA…number 4 made snort laugh!! Imagine a brothel fearing that a church will bring the WRONG sort of people in the neighborhood…HAHA!! Too funny 🙂

This weeks is hard as usual Patricia! I want to say #2 just for the fun of it. The teller would be very smart to ask for two forms of ID and the criminal would be aweful dumb to hand it over, lol! I can totally see it happening though.

As for grocery stores, I live in a small town. So going to two or three grocery stores to get all of your food for the month/week isn’t unusual. I WISHED we had one good inexpensive grocery store I could make just one stop in. I often go by the sales as to which ones I shop at. I really don’t like going to them all, but at least they aren’t that far from each other….just makes for a really LONG day 🙂

You’re lucky, the hair salons where I am in California are still closed. So I haven’t had a haircut in a few months. I guess I’ll go with #1.
