I feel my pulses beat, my forehead burn,
When I remember thou hast given for me
All that thou hadst, thy life, thy very name,
And I can give thee nothing in return.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, A Forgotten Grave

I’d never read it before Friday, Lucy, but it really touched me. Hoping your Memorial Day is blessed.
Thanks, Pat. I just sent out a link to my friends to a video that was played starting back in the early 60s by TV stations when they started or ended their broadcast day. It was call High Flight (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTms_G1yYPc).
Happy Memorial Day to all of you.
Tim, thanks for sharing the video. The words sounded familiar but I don’t recall whether I have seen this. I enjoyed watching. Edward

Hi Tim! Thanks for the video. It seemed familiar to me but I’m not sure whether I saw it at the movies or one of our TV stations back in the early 50s used it. I do know one of them ended with the Star-Spangled Banner and a flag waving in the breeze–not that I got to stay up late enough to see very often. 🙂 All the stations signed off at midnight.
Pat, I appreciate the words of that verse. My dad was in World War II. He was one of those who came home, thanks to God and the many others who gave all.

Thanks, Edward. I received the verse from a friend on Friday and the words resonated with me. The photo is from our small National Cemetery here in Corinth.
Pat, Thank you for sharing this beautiful quote. May we never take for granted the price that was paid for our spiritual and physical freedom.
Blessings on this Memorial Day!
I so agree, Caryl! Thanks for stopping by.
