More of God’s Grace #4

Patricia Bradley Faith 27 Comments

More of God’s Grace #4 is this week’s post. I’m sorry, but it isn’t a mystery question, and that will come again…possibly in mid-September.

Bryan walked into his heavenly home last Tuesday morning around 1, and he was so ready. While I rejoice for him, it’s been a hard journey for me. I do rejoice that I know where he is and that I will see him again someday.

I want to thank each of you who prayed for us. Prayers sustained me and helped us walk the dark valley. We were not alone. If you’ve ever lost a loved one, you know the numbness that comes first. That’s where I am. I’m staying so busy helping his daughter to take care of everything it takes to empty a house and the myriad of other things. The funeral will be this Friday, a graveside per his wishes.

Again, thank you so much for your care, concern and prayers.

Patricia

Pat, I’m sorry for your loss of your dear friend, Bryan. But, as Christians we know there is so much more than loss. There is joy for Bryan, all the other friends and relatives who have died in Christ, and are now with Him in heaven, and of course for we who are still waiting for our entry into heaven. I’m often comforted by these words from the hymn written by Ross King and Todd Wright:

And when I’ve breathed my final breath
I’ll have no need to fear that rest.
This hope will guide me into death.
    Hallelujah for the Cross!

    Chorus
Hallelujah for the war He fought,
Love has won; death has lost.
Hallelujah for the souls He bought,
    Hallelujah for the Cross!

May you feel God’s love surround you, and may He give you and Bryan’s family strength, comfort and peace now and in the days ahead

I don’t know what translation that is, but it’s wonderful!
You’ve done SO well. Much ongoing love and prayers to you
    in this continuing journey.

Continuing to pray for you, often, Pat, as you walk through the numbness, grief and tasks. God will walk with you sustaining you with his always present grace, strength and comfort. As the poem “Footprints” states when you see only set of footprints along the sand, it’s because He carried you when you were too weary to keep going.

Patricia, I’m continuing to pray for you during this difficult time. May you and Bryan’s daughter find comfort and strength in one another as you both go through his personal belongings, to clean out this house. I’m sure that’s very depressing and hard on you both! We will all have a happy reunion day with our loved ones, and I feel like it won’t be long. You’re in my prayers!

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m glad I got to meet him earlier this year. He was a very nice, cordial, and conversational man. Sending hugs and prayers, my friend.

Praying for our Lord’s abundant comfort and grace to carry you and all of those grieving for your friend. And I also want to affirm the wisdom you’ve shown in not trying to push the impossible and keep up with this blog on top of everything else. Thank you for setting this healthy example in a world where we expect ourselves–and others–to just dig deeper and do it all. God bless and keep you each step of this hurting road.

May you feel God’s comfort and peace. It is wonderful to have the knowledge that we will see Christian loved ones again.
