The End is in Sight!

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 33 Comments

I can’t believe the end is in sight and by Thursday this book will be headed toward my editor! Right now I’m reading it and making edits. And what’s most amazing of all, I actually like it. Usually by this point I.am.not.fond. of the manuscript! And that’s saying it mildly. 🙂

But I’m kind of hung up on a title. Here’s the blurb my cover artists, editors, and publicists are working with to come up with one:

Two Elvis impersonators murdered seventeen years apart. The cases become personal when Detective Rachel Sloan discovers a connection to her own mother’s death in a burglary-gone-wrong. Can the detective solve the three cases before the murderer makes her victim number four?  And will she allow the handsome Lieutenant Boone Callahan to help her?

Which do you like best: Justice Served, Justice Deserved, Justice Claimed, or Justice Found? Or do you have a better one? I’ll pass it along, if you do!

Okay, now on to last week’s Mystery Question! Which I am proud to say, no one guessed!!!
  1. “I was on a one-way street going the right way when I realized someone had moved the sign and I was no longer going the right way.”
  2. “I was backing my car out of the driveway in the usual manner when it was struck by the other car in the same place where it had been struck several times before.”
  3. “I was sure the old fellow would never make it to the other side of the road when I struck him.”
  4. “When I could not avoid a collision, I stepped on the gas and crashed into the other car.”

And the answer is…#1. 🙂 I think I’m getting the hang of how these people say things. lol

Now for this week’s Mystery Question:
  1. “No one was to blame for the accident, but it never would have happened if the other driver had been alert.”
  2. “My car was legally parked as it backed into the other vehicle.”
  3. “I got there first but I had to knock his car out of the way to get the parking space.”
  4. “I was on the way to the doctor with rear end trouble when my universal joint gave way causing me to have an accident.”

Okay, Mystery Sleuths, which answer did I make up? Three are true. Leave your answer in the comment section and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a $10 Amazon gift card at the end of the month.

If there are three in the series, I think they should be in this order: Justice Delayed, Justice Found, Justice Served. I’ll pick the quiz later. Hubby taking me shopping for Mother’s Day and My Birthday! See you when I get back!

Pat, I like your second title “Justice Desserts”. Sounds tantalizing. 🙂 For the mystery question, I am choosing #4.

Morning Pat!!! Having a little fun this morning….how about, “Hound Dog Justice” or “Justice in Heartbreak Hotel” or “Justice at Jailhouse Rock”… Lol!! You can slap me latter.

Keep up the good writing. Can’t wait to read it!!

That should have been later not latter. My spelling ranks right up there with my book titles. LOL

Mystery Question….I’ll say #2. So excited to hear about your books; loved Justice Delayed and told several friends about the special prices. Keep up the great writing!

Yay! Congrats on being so close to the finish! PTL! I LOVE doing titles, so I can’t help but put in my two cents. 🙂 Given what you said your second book title is (glad I read the comments!), I’d say the best from your listed options is Justice Deserved. The sound of two syllables in each word is nicer, imo, and consistent for your series. I also like the meaning of it. Another option could be Justice Denied or Justice Delivered (3 syllables, I know). Could do Justice Doubled to reference the twin Elvis killings…or Justice Diverted. Clearly, I’m going with the “D” theme right now. And I should probably get back to my own writing so I’ll stop there. 🙂 As for the mystery question, these are all hilarious options! I’ll go with #4, I guess.

Thanks, Caryl! I’ve been calling it Justice Served about half the time and Justice Denied the other half. lol In fact, the folder is named Justice Denied and the document Justice Served.

The answer to the Mystery Questions – #3 I like the “D” theme as well. Especially if the names were alphabetical as well as numerical such as Justice Delayed, Justice Denied, Justice Diverted, Justice Divided. No matter how you do the book shelf they will always be in order.
I loved the first book and can’t wait to read the rest!

Thank you, Helen, for reading my book! So glad you liked it. And welcome to my blog. I like the D theme, too, but the 2nd book is already titled Justice Buried because…well, you’ll have to wait until September to find out why. 🙂 We’ll see Tuesday if #3 is the false statement.
