What’s It Like to Take a Cruise?

Have you ever thought about taking a cruise? Or wondered what it was like? Well, on November 7, I stepped onto a beautiful ship and spent six daysShip in the Caribbean.

And six nights in this beautiful room!Stateroom2 I took the picture before I unpacked. And I really could get used to having my bed turned down every evening and then made up the next morning! And breakfast on the balcony…mmm!

Then there was dinner…I had escargot for the first time ever and discovered a wonderful dish! In fact, a cruise is a great place to try out foods you don’t normally eat.

But we didn’t spend all of our time on the ship. I spent an afternoon under this palm tree on Cococay.

And here are my daughters and granddaughter under the Banyan Tree in Cozumel.

And we SHOPPED! This Cozumel.  Below it is Jamaica, and yes, that’s the ship in the background!  And then we spent the day at Cococay.Cococay                                                      Grand-Cayman

The beach was beautiful. We spent Friday soaking up the sun.

But all things must end.

This has been a look at how I spent a few days with my daughters and granddaughter, making memories.

I’d like to know if you’ve ever taken a cruise. If so, how did you like it? If not, would you like to? And where would you go?

As beautiful as your pictures and my Love Boat memories are, even the thought of getting on a cruise ship makes me kind of nauseated. Motion sickness took hold of me in my early 30’s and I haven’t found anything to alleviate it, yet. I’ve been told that being on a cruise might not affect me. I would just have to stay away from viewing the water. So what’s the point. haha

My mom, my sister, and I went on a cruise to Bermuda several years ago. Our cabin was much smaller than yours–we had one set of bunk beds and another single bed. But it didn’t matter since we weren’t in the room except to sleep. I went snorkeling for the first time and loved it. It was a great time, and I’d love to cruise again.

You didn’t name the dish you discovered? Did they have a full assortment of fruits, salads, vegetables, everyhing? And fresh? A friend told me some seniors figure that constantly staying on board cruises is cheaper than living in retirement homes–just maybe a bit hard to get your snail mail.
